What Happens in California...

...generally spreads eastward like a disease. [More]
AB 962 would compel those who sell ammunition to be licensed the same as gun dealers, and mandate a face-to-face transaction when someone buys ammunition...

DeSaulnier's bill, SB 697, would mandate safety measures be included in every gun sold in California. That technology would be used to tell how many unfired cartridges remain in a gun, to avoid accidental shootings when thought to be empty.
Neither bill, of course, is actually intended to do what they profess.

They're intended to be an in-your-face-because-we-hate-you harassment of Golden State gun owners.

We're the Only OnesTwofer Enough

While Baker was talking with the officer, Schwartz came downstairs and pointed a gun. Spellman said the officer felt threatened and fired, hitting both women. [More]
Admittedly, a true "death by cop" wish cannot be avoided. Still, you'd think someone who truly possesses the training and skills attributed to "Only Ones" would have Cooper's rules so thoroughly a part of their response...

Would I do better? No idea. Perhaps I would have done the same, or hesitated and gotten killed.

Some situations are "no win." So is it fair to even bring this up?

For discussion, sure.

The saga continues.

It looks like more than this "Only One's" career was blown...

We're the Fauxnly Ones Entering Dynamically Enough

Two men brandishing weapons, fake badges and handcuffs claim to be cops as they kick down a door and enter a family's home. [More]
Which means if I ever survive a home invasion I'll want to make sure my lawyer knows how many documented fake cop incidents have been reported so he can make sure the jury understands my motives for resisting.

How are we to know they're real "Only Ones"?

What's Up...

...with New Jersey? [More]
Easy. They're a bunch of damn collectivist criminals.

Which explains this.

And this.

Damned traitors want to make sure they control all the guns.

And the damned fool majority want that too.

The New Praetorians

So when an innocent person finds himself on the receiving end of unjustified attention from a police officer, his only safe course of action -- from this point of view -- is that of the proverbial rape victim: Just lie down and endure it, and enjoy it, if possible. [More]

You May Be a Federal Criminal

Federal law now criminalizes activities that the average person would never dream would land him in prison. Consequently, every year, thousands of upstanding, responsible Americans run afoul of some incomprehensible federal law and end up serving time in federal prison. [More]
Sounds like a Jeff Foxworthy routine gone bad, doesn't it? Except this was never intended to be funny.

Amazing--the government punishes a citizen for the consequences of being incarcerated and unable to comply with further edicts. It is a true "Catch 22."

Things will not change unless and until the costs of participating in state-sponsored terrorism exceed the benefits.

What If We Could Do 'Instant Checks' and Not Identify Gun Buyers?

The short answer from the antis would be--well, it hardly matters since masking their long-term intent has always been their MO. The short answer from the "incrementalists" will be along the lines of "because it doesn't stand a chance of passing."

But we'll never know that unless it's on the discussion table, will we? [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner column resurrects a discussion we've had before here at WarOnGuns, and poses a question to the major "gun/anti-gun lobby" proponents.

This Day in History: July 28

As soon, as I had authentic information of Genl. Prescots Captivity, I wrote to Genl. Howe and proposed to exchange him for Genl. Lee. I have received no Answer to the proposition tho my Letter must have got to hand some days before the Fleet sailed from the Hook. Most probably he will take sometime before he agrees to it, having declared him unexchangeable in one instance, and only argumentatively robe in the same predicament of Other Officers, in another. His Objection, most likely, arose from a Supposition we should never have a Major Genl. in our possession. [More]
