Dear David,
Liberty writers are checking in as our Safer Streets concept grows.
Dr. Laura Schlessinger has checked in. Morality, courage, reality and integrity are going to be absolutely essential to the recovery of the nation. If we expect it in others -- especially officials to whom we grant authority -- it all needs to come from us first.
On our authority. On our insistence. Thanks, Dr. Laura.
Information for optimal preparedness is as important, and we welcome Alex Jones' website with NASA's notice of solar activity that has the globe abuzz.
Bob Parks joins us too, with a daring expose on several important things every voter should know this November. Where did America ever get the idea the Ku Klux Klan was conservatives? His series sure explains a lot!
It all means safer streets. Good to have you all.
Love of Liberty,
John Longenecker

Integrity, loyalty, morality as expressions of Patriotism. Parachute jump teacher saves student from sure death.
DL
Dave was the instructor. His student, a woman, was a total newbie. The day for the parachute jump was beautiful: sunny, clear, warm. Dave gave Shirley her briefing before they took off in the airplane to jump - in tandem (that means attached to each other), as he has done hundreds of times. This day was different. This day the parachute did not deploy properly and they were spinning to their certain deaths. More. .

What have the Soviets learned from Communism?
Russian emigre Leon Weinstein has a warning to Americans now experiencing what Russians experienced in the early days of Communism. The Genesis is identical. Gun Control: The ultimate human rights violation.
DrHawkins

The most telling aspect of the left's obsession with human rights is not so much what its proponents claim to defend but what they would be happy to sacrifice. And one thing all human rights activists are perpetually ready to jettison is the right Americans enjoy in keeping and bearing arms. More

Who's to blame?
WilliamsIf our founders could see today's federal government, it would be unrecognizable to their vision. In fact, their vision has been turned upon its head, so that the powers of the state governments are "few and defined" and those of the federal government "are numerous and indefinite." Who is to blame for a federal government that spends a third of our income, regulates most every aspect of our lives, and has snuffed out the personal liberty envisioned by our founders?

10TH-AMENDMENT

Just when you thought Arizona couldn't get any more provocative, or push any more of the federal government's buttons, it looks like America's 48th state may actually become the 15th state to adopt another very controversial law!

This proposed law, on the other hand, may actually make some people on the Left, as well as the Right, happy for a change. I have my doubts about whether it will make those who put party above principle, or anyone employed by the U.S. Department of Justice happy, however. More . . .

What does Sharron Angle victory in Nevada U.S. Senate primary mean for gun owners?
codrea"Sharron Angle wins; Harry Reid gets race he wanted," the Las Vegas Sun headline tells us about Nevada's U.S. Senate race. Sharron Angle, a former Reno assemblywoman and Tea Party favorite, emerged from Tuesday's Republican primary, lifted to a landslide by a solid base of conservative supporters but carrying political baggage that experts say gives the embattled Reid a new lease on political life. And why would that be? More . . . ________________________________________________________

"The sun is waking up from a deep slumber, and in the next few years we expect to see much higher levels of solar activity. Derrick Bird in Northwest England, one Brit psychologist identified by ITN News as Dr. James Thompson, put this incident - and perhaps all such incidents - in proper perspective. More . . .

We're the Only Ones Exerting Pier Pressure Enough

An off-duty sheriff's deputy is under investigation for allegedly firing a gun on the crowded Redondo Beach pier during an argument with his girlfriend. [More]
I know that pier well. It used to be a walk from our house. We've patronized many of the places there, for years, including the restaurant mentioned in this story. We've taken the kids there many times, always seeming to wind up in the Fun Factory arcade.

And then you have this stupid bastard endangering families because--because what, he's a frickin' armed headcase with a badge?

Good luck trying to get a carry permit if you live in Redondo. Only "Only Ones" can be trusted there. You're at their mercy.

His psycho mug shot sure looked familiar, inspiring a "separated at birth" insight:

They'll see and they'll know and they'll say "Why he wouldn't even harm a fly."

Homeland Security

The Preamble is a statement of political purpose, a legal mandate and requirement, and a strict rule of interpretation. All the powers and disabilities (that is, absences of power) that follow in the body of the Constitution are to be construed in light of, and to be employed so as to advance, all of the goals the Preamble sets forth, not to thwart, subvert, or ignore any of them. [More]
Too many have fallen for the fraud that being secured is the same thing as being secure.

We're the Only Ones "And Leave the Driving to Us" Enough

An Anderson police officer has been arrested, charged with raping a woman on the way to jail. [More]
Huh. It certainly reveals an attitude that he can do whatever he pleases with someone he has power over. How you treat those really does define character, don't you think?

Kind of makes you wonder why he felt so confident that he could get away with it, doesn't it?

Time to Ban Assault Crosses

Committee holsters guns-in-church bill [More]
I'm sure State Sen. Karen Peterson, D-New Orleans, who "voted against the bill" would be real useful in a situation where someone ignored the damn law and did what they felt like.

Still, perhaps the politicians are focusing on the wrong weapon:
80-year-old beaten cross likely used as a murder weapon, say police.

Churchgoing Lilian Wilson...was found by the pastor of her church Central United Methodist in Hamlin, Ark., Sunday afternoon...
I wonder if someone being bludgeoned to death in church by a maniac would find themselves wishing they could make it stop?

Not that the subversive United Methodist establishment is capable of doing more than regurgitating its collective cud while playing the role of useful idiot.

It's not the first time a cross ban has come up here...

Trivial Pursuits

I know how Mike H feels. My head is a lint trap for minutia, too. Still, sometimes paying attention to the seemingly trivial yields useful situational information overlooked by the more serious (and often-times less imaginative and creative) minded. [Read]

Now an MP is calling on the Home Secretary to look at legislation to stop people having access to guns, as Derrick Bird did. [More]

The people have spoken, and your rights ARE subject to their will--if you let them be.

OK, then citizens, reap what you sow. Too bad good people will be hurt. Too bad enough of them didn't choose to educate and involve themselves.

What Does Sharron Angle Victory in Nevada U.S. Senate Primary Mean for Gun Owners?

Ah yes. If you believe in that Constitution Reid swore an oath to uphold, you're "wacky." Let the conflation with extremists and haters begin. You know, the "progressive" M.O. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner column explores the all-too-familiar divide between "pragmatist" and "principles freak."
