'Watchmen' Reminder

Mike Vanderboegh and I will be on "The Watchmen" this evening. Click here to listen live, starting at 8:00 pm EST.

GRE Round Up for November 15

Here's the latest from my fellow GREs:

Mike Stollenwerk/DC:
Sean Carrana/Orlando:
Dave Workman/Seattle:
Kurt Hofmann/St. Louis:
Also check out these other Liberty-oriented Examiners:

A Unanimous Decision

Just remember this when the feds tell us we must bail out California because it's "too big to fail." [Read]

And oh, look: They can afford this, too.

If I Had a Hammer...

“We need the hammer,” said the mayor about the city’s ceaseless pattern of gang- and illegal drug trade-related shootings. [More]
Because poor New Jersey just doesn't have strong enough "gun control" laws.

Not that this might possibly be construed as all their idiot citizen disarmament edicts being fraudulently useless at accomplishing their stated purpose or anything...

Give us more of what doesn't work! And federalize it!

Hey, who can really blame them: If that approach is good enough for Vulcan chess masters...

We're the Only Ones Putting Guns ON the Street Enough

Someone broke into a law enforcement training center in July, stealing nearly $7,000 in guns, and federal investigators are seeking help from the public to solve the case. [More]
Gee, I wonder who that "someone" was, how he knew they were there, and why they weren't locked up in a safe...I also wonder how come we're just now hearing about this...

I like that $2,500 reward for $7k worth of guns.  Reminds me of the story about the old man and the talking frog...

We're the Only Ones "Real McCoy" Enough

Initially, police thought 25-year-old Britney Shatzer, who was robbed at 38th and High School Road, was the victim of a police impersonator. [More]
Nope, although how you could get authorized and unauthorized strong-arm robbers confused is understandable...

[Via William T]

Just What We Need

Give BATFU even more stuff to screw up. [Read]

Peter Greenberg of CBS

Incompetent or liar?

We report, you decide.

[Via Michael G]

We're the Only...Huh? What?

Ransom could only stand with his hands in the air and yell that he was not shooting.

“I guess they couldn’t hear me,” Ransom said Friday.[More]
Bunches of you sent me links to the backfiring van story over the weekend. Mack H sent me this one, that seems to really put the danger these morons who shot their own windows out in their bungling panic pose to the community.

It really fills me with confidence knowing the KC Fusion Center is urging them to be on the lookout for...uh... us...

Dear Employee

WRSA asks readers to send an email and make a call. [Read]

I trust that's not too burdensome and grinding a request?

Threeperplatform

Kerodin asks "What's the downside?" [Read]

A Clear Connection

The incident marks the second armed robbery around the Harvard campus in the past several days, following the mugging a man in Harvard Yard early Thursday morning. It is unclear if the two robberies are connected... [More]
Well I can think of one connection: In both incidents, the victims were unprepared to do anything but obey and hope the assailant would let them escape with their lives.

Actually, I can think of another connection: That's the way "authoritah" wants it to be.

We're the Only Ones Troubled Enough

Cummings said the $500 he was paid to attend each poker game was "just for my troubles" for "hanging around at a party." [More]
Because he's such an "appealing" guy to have around, you see.

[Via FFFW]

But Wait--There's More!

Billy Mays passes out Kewpie dolls during the Night of the Living Fudds. [Read]

Would but this were only an absurd dream that Mike is boldly interpreting for us.

Some have no clue what to do next when the nightmare is real. Which shouldn't surprise us. Anyone who actually believes alerting gun owners to the very real dangers and outrages threatening us, and then forcing the issue out into the open equates with "devouring of our own" is hardly someone I consider on my side.

I guess we can just ignore things and hope they go away...instead of exposing the enemies of Liberty for what they are...

I know where I stand on this.

A Tale Told By an Idiot

Full of sound and fury, signifying nothing. [Read]

This is the guy who's pleased as punch that Breyer used his work in the McDonald dissent.

Get this, egghead:

Shall not be infringed.

Then get this:

We will not disarm. And we will not disaffiliate.

What happens after the government summons the militia is not the issue here.

A Star is Born

The New Jersey governor not only rocked on the 2010 campaign trail, he quickly became a regular on short lists of Republican presidential prospects. [More]
Yeah, I guess if the GOP wants to blow it, go for it.
Yet another reason why giving to parties and associations is a self-defeating, stupid idea, unless, of course, you're a Vulcan chess master, and then it evidently becomes a smart way to store up that political capital we're constantly being reminded is so easily exhausted.

ATF position on pistol grip 'shotguns' creates new danger

That would seem to indicate there’s no issue with violating National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record (NFRTR) requirements, right?  No worries if you own one, or want to buy one…?

Not so fast.  If the pistol grip firearms are not “shotguns,” what are they? [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner column won't urge you to get a grip unless and until the risks for doing so are determined.

Also wa...uh...listen to "The Watchmen" tonight, when Mike Vanderboegh and I will be discussing this and the Airsoft debacle.

Can I count on site regulars to share the link?
