Manhunt highlights enforcement weaknesses against determined resistance

One man has done this, and people are noticing. Aside from an attitude among panicky enforcers that appears to regard public safety as an expendable inconvenience when they perceive a real or imagined threat to themselves, people are noticing how much illusion and presumptions have to do with state power. For many, it is a “Behold, a god who bleeds” moment. [More
Today's Gun Rights Examiner commentary pays attention to the man behind the curtain instead of the illusion on the throne.

...of self-serving, crusty, old rich white men, angry feminists and effeminate inner city dwellers who have never ridden a horse across a snowy mountain, sat up all night with a dog who has been bitten by a Copperhead, or plowed a row in a garden on a sunny day. [More]
The truth of that resonates. I've never done those specific things, but I've had reasonably equivalent experiences and know where he's coming from, plus I like the poetic imagery he conjures up.

I guess you never heard about the Warsaw ghetto uprising, Cohen? [Read]

I guess you just don't have the imagination to extrapolate that to what would have happened had such capabilities -- and most importantly, such convictions and will -- been more widespread?

Yeah,  someone who would be utterly helpless to protect his family depending on him to be a man finds such assertions "laughable."  Yours is the cowardly, deluded mentality that makes tyranny not only possible, but inevitable, and that you would extend your self-imposed impotence on men who are your betters -- at gunpoint by police state enforcers -- makes you a particularly contemptible sort of fool.  You should be hiding in shame rather than broadcasting that.

But thanks for confirming what some of us have been saying all along as a counterpoint to those lying about "common sense reasonable restrictions" to establish a beachhead from which they'll launch their next assault:
The liberal agenda once included confiscating handguns and abolishing the right to own one — never mind the right to carry one at all times.
It still does, but now you have to lie about it.  And you're right.  You've lost.

Because ultimately, the Second Amendment means what serious men with guns say it does. And you cloistered weaklings don't have anywhere near enough jackboots to throw at us and change that dynamic.

This Day in History: February 8

I have just received intelligence, which, though from a private hand, I believe is to be relied on, that a fleet of the enemy's ships have entered Cape Fear river, that eight of them had got over the bar, and many others were lying off; and that it was supposed to be a reinforcement to Lord Cornwallis, under the command of General Prevost. This account, which had come through another channel, is confirmed by a letter from General Parsons at Halifax, to the gentleman who forwards it to me. I thought it of sufficient importance to be communicated to your Excellency by the stationed expresses. The fatal want of arms puts it out of our power to bring a greater force into the field, than will barely suffice to restrain the adventures of the pitiful body of men they have at Portsmouth. Should any more be added to them, this country will be perfectly open to them, by land as well as water. [More]
