Photo of trained child with gun prompts police visit to N.J. home

That’s why this particular young person is fortunate to have parents who care about his safety and happiness enough to give him age-appropriate training, and importantly, age-appropriate trust. And he’s especially fortunate to be raised in a home where the parents understand and will not surrender their rights in the face of intimidating authorities demanding otherwise. [More]
This evening's Gun Rights Examiner looks at a place where the Orwellian maxim "Ignorance is strength" is official policy when it comes to educating young people about guns.  You know, New Jersey.

Southern Sense

I'm going to be doing the Southern Sense podcast today at 2 p.m. Eastern (actually 2:15 -- they start the program with a tribute to fallen heroes).

We'll be talking Gunwalker and whatever else is happening gun-related in the news.

Click here to listen.  They also have a call-in number for those who want to interact.

Surprise, Surprise, Surprise!

For years, the NRA and the American Right have played games with some imprecise wording in the Second Amendment, which was always about a state’s right to have a well-regulated militia, but now those games are distorting U.S. foreign policy, too, says ex-CIA analyst Paul R. Pillar.  [More]

Oh, gee. A career statist trough-feeder embraces collectivism. And globalism. And control.

“The University of Central Florida prohibits the possession, use, or storage of weapons on property owned or controlled by the University of Central Florida, including in a vehicle brought onto university property, on one’s person, or in one’s office or residence hall,” UCF Policy 3-119, “Weapons on University Property and at University Events” states unequivocally. Today's Gun Rights Examiner report notes some college students dodged a bullet (several actually, along with some bombs) by pure luck, and had things gone down differently, the only thing campus policy would have done is helped ensure success to their attacker.

Armed American Radio

Here's the archived program from Sunday night:
Mark brought up the topic if where we're heading in the last segment of the third hour I wish we'd had more time to discuss and debate. I don't share the same optimism and faith in rank-and-file law enforcement as some of my fellow Roundtable participants.

Obey or Be Destroyed Orders Await Signature

Gov. John Hickenlooper will sign three Democratic gun control proposals into law this week, including the controversial ban on high-capacity magazines that has outraged gun owners threatening a recall effort against the governor and ballot measures to reverse the ban. [Read]

Yeah? So what are you Coloradans going to do in the interim? And what are you going to do if you lose at the polls?

And what about the rest of us?
