‘Enforce Existing Gun Laws’ Last Thing Rights Advocates Should Call For

Demanding that government “enforce existing gun laws” is more than a bit like calling on King George to enforce existing Intolerable Acts. We’ll get no points from the gun-grabbers for being “reasonable.” We need to grok that we’re up against agents of tyranny who will stop at nothing, who will greedily gobble up whatever we cede to them, and who will then turn around and still accuse us of being uncompromising extremists. That's been a critical mistake of the NRA for many decades. It's a large remnant of their Yankee Army officer origins that needs to be wrung out of existence.

Many people are in favor of punitive laws until they realize the law applies to themselves also.

Not "finally" -- some of us have been regularly saying that since the last century -- it's just Wayne & Co. have a longer reach.

I've often thought, if they're going to call us "uncompromising" anyway (as if that's a bad thing), we may as well live up to it.

No compromise, no surrender.
