Another Bit of Election Cheer

Mark Kirk is out. [More]

That "Republican" loss is a victory.

True, Duckworth is an enemy. But she's an outside-the-gates enemy. He's not only been inside, he's been in-your-face about it.

Republicans need to instinctively grok that unless and until they give us acceptable candidates, they can feel our pain. Accepting betrayers is what got us into the mess in the first place.

I voted against Billy Long (7th MO -R-), but to no avail. He never met a USA PATRIOT ACT he didn't like. Traitorous bastard! Silver lining: nearly every officeholder in MO is now (R).

Precisely why I left that part of my ballot blank. And seeing as how it was a lead-pipe cinch clinton was going to win IL, I went with a 3rd party for President in order to hopefully assure full ballot access the next election cycle. The IL GOP is infamous for giving us IL voters some incredibly bad "choices" (The Jack Ryan vs Obama in the Senate election was a big and ultimately disastrous one). With a conservative 3rd party breathing down their necks, they -might- get their collective act together.

Someone else said it, I'm just repeating/paraphrasing it: Replacing Mark Kirk with a Democrat isn't so much a "losing a seat" as it is "fixing the label".
