Sessions Embracing ‘Project Exile’ a Result of Exclusive NRA Influence with Trump on Guns

So expect AG Sessions to go forward with a renewed “gun control” enforcement emphasis, and attribute that to NRA having near exclusive access to President Trump’s ear on the gun issue. That’s due not only to its early and continued political support of his candidacy, but also because the other national gun group with a dog in the Exile fight, Gun Owners of America, sat on its hands, declining to endorse Trump after its preferred candidate, Ted Cruz, had been sidelined. Agree with that stance on principle or not, the political reality – and that’s the field lobbyists play on – is that NRA has a seat at the table. [More]
So Project Exile not only doesn't work and isn't Constitutionally authorized, but I never did hear back from the "enforce existing gun laws" crowd on how that's any different from saying "enforce existing Intolerable Acts."

Does NRA ever talk about the Constitution? Then we should hold their feet to the fire regarding "enforce existing laws" every time.

Why not pose that question directly to Wayne and Chris during their speeches at the Convention (civil conversation always).

David,

Do you agree that felons, having served their time, should have all rights restored, including the RKBA?

I think anyone who can't be trusted with a gun can't be trusted without a custodian. The corollary to that is if you can be trusted without a custodian, you can be trusted to live peaceably among your fellow human beings with full recognition of all rights.

Part of what made Exile effective was the multi-faceted advertising campaign, especially the billboards around Richmond. Certainly the NRA was seduced. So has Trump, apparently.

The GOA made a rare mistake in going all out for neocon Ted.

"enforce existing laws"

Ridiculous as well as impossible.

"enforce existing laws" has a distinct Soviet odor about it...

Sort of a modern version of Jim Crow, applying to all the rabble, but only rarely-if ever-applying to the 1% power & money cartel.

See Harvey Silverglate's book, Three Felonies A Day, which shows that the average American commits three (3) felonies each day going about their usual business, due to the ever-increasing pile criminal laws.

Not that there aren't laws begging for 'enforcement'...

15 USC, for one. Enacted over a century ago in response to the Robber Barons of that era.

The health care industry operates as a mafia-style racket in this country, creating American debt-slaves and bankruptcies (#1 cause of US bankruptcy) on a daily basis through the commission of felonious conduct in regard to price-fixing, restraint of trade, monopolism, collusion, and the like.

See Karl Denninger's Market Ticker blog for the whole sorry story.

---------------------

Felons stuffed back in prison for years for mere possession of a round of ammo, or a firearm, not having threatened or committed any harm, is an absurdity and an abomination, aside from being in direct opposition to the 2nd Amendment.

---------------------

"enforce existing laws" combined with our police/surveillance state...is a recipe for totalitarian disaster.

Project Exile is just another means to feed raw material (human beings) to the Prison Industrial Complex.

Project Exile is exactly the sort of tyrannical nonsense that made up the list of complaints that was the Declaration of Independence.

Apparently the modern notion is that being treated as a toilet by government is just swell, as long as that government is domestic rather than located across a large ocean...

That 2nd Amendment supporters would endorse this "enforce existing laws" Project Exile garbage is shooting themselves in the foot...or head.

The wisest of the Founders counseled us to never place trust in those wielding power, that we preserve the spirit of rebellion...

If you really want to enforce existing laws, how about starting with the Bill of Rights and the Constitution???

Our governments are cesspools of corruption and abuse of powers and raw evil.

We are allowed to vote in order to enforce the notion that we are self-governed because we choose our masters.

Voting is not going to deliver us from our degrading circumstances.
