Soul-Searching at the ACLU

Maybe some speech isn’t worth defending.  [More]
I hadn't realized the First and Second Amendments are either/or propositions.

And don't you first need a soul?

“What resulted from the backlash was an announcement that the ACLU will no longer stand with hate groups seeking to march with weapons, as some of those in Charlottesville did.”

Ah, see… it’s not about the SPEECH after all. It’s about those icky WEAPONS.

The ACLU hasn’t “changed their minds,” they’re just adding new qualifications to keep their long-time rights bigotries consistent.

The article has the quote “If you can’t stomach respecting the First Amendment rights of people you despise,” [associate director with the ACLU Stacy] Sullivan said, “you don’t work here.”

I would be interested in what the ACLU has to say if I read that Stacy Sullivan said “If you can’t stomach respecting the Second Amendment rights of people, whether you despise them or not, you don’t work here.”
